Stewardship

Time,Talent,&Treasury

Defined by Dictionary.com:

The responsible overseeing and protection of something considered worth caring for and preserving.

Every organization places key managers or experts to oversee other people's money(OPM). This OPM is in form of provided debt by lenders, equity investor money, and service providers credit terms that allow an organization to operate profitably to create retain earnings and to be able to share profits.  These managers or experts oversee the talented staff working for the organization and they provide the necessary tools to work efficiently for the best use of their time.  The Ultimate Purpose is stewardship of time, talent and treasury from the Holy Bible.

Flag Leaf practices the fundamentals outlined by the Holy Bible.  And Flag Leaf is proud to say The United States of America is the greatest place to live and work because we have the freedom to establish one's value system through the faith it believes in and practices.

As every organization operates with the stewardship for OPM, we ultimately end up being stewards of what God has provided to us.  As King David wrote in Psalms giving support to this principle:

  • Psalm 24:1  "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."

  • Psalm 50:10  "Every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills."

In Luke 16 the parable of the shrewd manager verse 9 resonated with me.  It says,  "I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwelling."   Eternal Dwelling is what God calls us to share to the World.

All throughout the Bible, God tells us to profit in what our hands touch so we can give to causes placed on our heart.  As Matthew 26:11 states "We will always have the poor among us."  In keeping with this principle, Acts 20:35 says, "it is more blessed to give than receive."

I end "The Ultimate Purpose" by sharing King David's understanding of this principle with his writings from I Chronicles 29 starting at verse 12:

"Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things.  In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.  Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name".
